Siiri Morley, US Peace Corps Volunteer working with the Elelloang Basali Weavers
in Lesotho, has been invited to speak at the 3rd International Conference on Information Technology and Economic
Development, to be held in Ghana in March 2004. She will be presenting a
paper titled "Africancraft.com Generating Pride and Publicity for Africa's Artisans: A Case Study of Mohair Weavers in Lesotho".
We are very grateful to Siiri, and wish to thank her, for the
invaluable job she has done in assisting the Elelloang women in
marketing their weavings, and for the outstanding job she is doing
now in recounting the benefits the weavers have achieved through

"Africancraft.com: A Case Study of Weavers in Lesotho" was selected as one of 12 finalists in the 2003
ICT Stories competition sponsored by the International Institute for
Communication and Development, InfoDev and the Global Knowledge
Partnership and announced at the World Summit on the Information
Society (WSIS) in December 2003. 
AfricanCraft.com was selected in 2000 as a finalist in the Stockholm Challenge, an international competition for projects that focus on the benefits and changes
that information technology can bring to communities. 
We've been recommended in various newspaper and magazine articles, including in The Sunday Times, in Natural Health, and
in ShopOnline123 (a Better Homes & Gardens publication) where AfricanCraft.com was selected as one of the best 100 shopping sites on the internet. 
AfricanCraft.com was part of the panel titled "From Village Stall to the Global Market" put together
by ActInvest International, a Geneva-based NGO, in conjunction
with the United Nations World Summit on Social Development + 5.
