Wood Carver, Cameroon
Artist Clement Tsangue is from the small town of Dschang in the West region of Cameroon. He is the son of a polygamus father with 10 wives. After his primary studies, Clement continued studying at the Enseignement Technique until his 4th year, when his father was no longer able to support his study. Instead, his brothers continued teaching him. During this time, his father set Clement up with an apprenticeship with his grandfather, a sculptor of wood, from 1994 to 1997.

In 2002, Clement chose to name his work Arts Clems. He works with wood, in particular padouk, iroko, and ebony. His favorite things to make are chairs and tables because he considers them useful items for the house. He also really likes making bottle openers in all sorts of shapes because people can carry them anywhere.
