cement sculptor, Ghana

James Kafui Ahiave
is an amazing young man. He is a true dreamer, as a visionary and also literally. James says that many of his inspirations come to him in dreams.

After briefly apprenticing to a cement sculptor, James started a noah's ark of creatures in fountains, on railings, walls... there was no stopping him. He creates pillars that turn ordinary houses into showcases and crocodiles that loom over the fishing village where he lives.

James is Ewe and comes from Hohoe in the Volta Region of Ghana, but now makes his home in Nungua, a suburb of Accra. He's ready to spread his wings and fly. All you have to do is invite him.
