This Ewe kente cloth is an example of work done 50-60 years ago in the Volta Region of Ghana. Weavers seldom take the time to weave such elaborate patterns today. Kente cloth is indigenous to Ghana and has come to represent African pride. Individual strips are woven and then sewed together to make either a small (woman's) cloth or a large (man's) cloth.
